Tech N9NE is the best from the midwest. its too bad that instead of Tech, most "Hip Hop fans" (in quotes because if u/they don't support or even listen to underground Hiphop they aren't a true fan of hiphop because mainstream rap is on some BULLSHlT) listen to MIMS (Music is My Soul just went and killed his soul), Fergie (whoever let her do her own album should be killed as slowly and as painfully as possible), Cam'Ron, and his whole Dipset crew minus Katt Williams (Money Mike is funny as hell, everyone else in the diplomats should burn in hell, especially Cam, Juelz, and Jim Jones) etc. PLEASE SUPPORT UNDERGROUND HIP HOP (Immortal Technique, Tech N9NE, Jedi Mind tricks, Ill Bill, Poison Pen, Akir, Common, Consequence, Rhymefest, Jean Grae, Hush, Mos Def, etc.)
Exceeded Expectations...
Everready, Tech N9ne's first studio album since Absolute Power in 2001, was a madhouse (in a good way) of marvelously catchy beats, fantastic lyrics, and most importantly INSANE FLOW. If you have not heard this man spit, you have not heard the best modern hip-hop has to offer. And now this--MLK: an album that could have been a bunch a fluff (especially considering its release was not even a year after Everready's) to make a few more bucks, but that is SO MUCH MORE. There is no doubt that Tech N9ne is the most polished artist on this record, but all of the features worth your listen (shame on ITunes for not including them in the song titles!). And I'll say one thing about the content: Not every "true" hip-hop album has to be entirely about "sticking it to the man" or Revolution, or whatever. A good hip-hop album, to me, is SMART. And even when discussing the most heinous of sex acts (and that happens fairly often on this album), Tech N9ne and his cohorts are f****** smart about it. I'm not going to say much else... You just have to listen to it. Highlights: Sex out South, Message to the Black Man, That Box, Gangsta Shap, 2 Piece.
