An American Fan

I don't know if I'm the only American fan of these guys, given the dismal state of music in the US. I discovered these guys on Triple J during a 1999 trip to Australia, and have been a HUGE fan ever since- they are in my Top 5. This album is excellent- they are one of the most creative bands on the planet, and this effort does not disappoint. Personally, my faves are The Drop and Sonnet Of A Media Mogul, but the whole album is good. It's more punkish than their recent stuff, and punk not being my style, I'm still giving this 5 stars- they make me like it. Other ones I particularly like- If This Was Blues..., The Game, I Was Sent By God... The addition of a keyboard does give a different flavor to their sound, but again, it's good, and these guys keep evolving and don't do a lot of retreading.

the Mighty Gurge!

best band in the world. "Sonnet of a Media Mogul" joins Everyday Formula, Blubber Boy, etc. in the all-time Gurge songs list. "The Drop" is a Fat Cop/C'mon-style burner, too. And "Metal..." is ace. From Tu-Plang to here, it's just all good.

Austraglia=Awesome

This is everything good about modern music - everything bad about modern music. Truly a mash up, tons of energy and talent. Besides, Quan is "the hardest rocker in the world".

Formed: 1994

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s, '00s

The music combines industrial sounds, funk, hip-hop, synth pop, and disco and makes the most of effects and samples. Nothing is sacred. Supporting...
