This album just drones on and on

     

What seemed like a good find, after listening to the previews, I took a chance and downloaded this album. First off, this band seems to be capable of making good music. The vocalist has a solid voice and seems that if he ever pushed his range, it could be down right powerful. But these guys just don't go anywhere with their music. It just seems like a long lead up to a crescendo that never comes. It left me feeling completely bored and dissatisfied. This is a band that has the ability and the sound to be really good. I've gotten glimpses of it on this album, in places, where you think they are finally going to take the listener to another level… But alas, it never happens. For instance, track 4 - SNAIL - You really get the feeling that the album is going to take a step up in intensity and urgency with this song. You can hear how this band could really bring out the strength of their singer and instrumentation on this track, which seems like a step in the right direction. However, it just fizzles right back out after that. The album is lackluster, dry, and boring. I dare say it's laborious. Quite a disappointment considering these guys appear to have the ability to bring some very powerful and soulful music. They just need to break out of the flatness that bound them on this album.
