Album Review
This lovely album from 1983 continues to be a steady seller for David and Steven Gordon. The basis for Misty Forest Morning are the songs of forest birds and the babbling of streams that the brothers recorded in Sequoia National Forest. Free-form melodies for guitar, flute, and synthesizer keyboards are played in concert with these environmental sounds for a relaxing yet invigorating effect. The mellow nature sounds could have lured the brothers to "mush out" their music, but most of the themes, harmonies, and synthesizer effects are original and quite refreshing. "Floating Meadow" has synth sounds that suggest the imminent arrival of flying saucers. "Waterlilly" features a haunting drone, sloshing water, and plaintive piano musings, like a water bug scooting over the surface.

One of the best!
Of all the "nature sounds" albums I have heard, this is by far my favorite. The Gordon brothers are masters at creating a relaxing atmosphere by merging the sounds of nature and soothing music. This is a perfect album to help you unwind at the end of the day.
A beautiful work of art
The gentleness and refreshing nature of this album are truly lovely. It flows naturally and is in no way distracting. It lends itself perfectly for meditation or massage and is exactly perfect for my relaxation sessions. A great recommendation from me!

The tracks here are just beautiful. Tranquil, peaceful, soothing etc etc etc. The true beauty is in just how perfect the different threads of sound are woven. This disk is absolutely perfect for meditation because it is so non-distracting. I also think it's great for getting some good rest. Allow your mind to clear and relax...
