Album Review

Tesla was a great hard rock band living in a time of pop-metal giants. Though they had some big hits, highlighted by an unplugged cover of "Signs" and the terrific epic "Love Song," they never were as flashy as, say, Poison, so they didn't reach the charts as often. Also, they weren't as recognizably "serious" as Metallica or Queensryche, so they didn't get written about in magazines outside of guitar publications, who were always thirsty for hard rock guitarists of any fashion. But they were an excellent hard rock band, with real passion and power, and a great set of tunes. Their volume of 20th Century Masters may not hit all of their peaks, but it hits enough of them to make it worthwhile for most casual fans.

TESLA!!!!

by ZD1026

This is a very, very good album. It has all of their basic, very good songs.
I have no complaints about this cd at all. If you do want to really
start to listen to Tesla though, you should, without a doubt, get some of their
other cds. I say that not because this cd is bad, but it does lack some classic
Tesla songs that are still very good and worthy to be listened to. My favorite Tesla
songs off this cd are: Modern Day Cowboy, Hang Tough, Heaven's Trail,
Edison's Medicine, and What You Give.
TESLA RULES!!!!!!!

Great Band! - but album is missing a few gems.

This is one of the greatest rock bands that too few rock fans know the name of - but play one of their songs and people love the sound and want to know who it is! This collection is really missing a few great songs from Mechanical Resonance.

I stood through many Tesla concerts and the filming of ten repeats of the "Love Song" video and I still stand for the songs, close my eyes and get chills to this day decades later. The guitars, voice and rhythm are better than what was current then and pure compared with what is current now. "What You Give" is a template for life and a timeless lesson for love.

Biography

Formed: 1985

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '80s, '90s, '00s

Although Tesla emerged during the glory days of hair metal, the band's music was equally indebted to contemporary blues and '70s-style hard rock, a fusion that helped differentiate albums like The Great Radio Controversy from its contemporaries. Despite the refreshing lack of posturing, Tesla was hit...
