Fantastic Album
Every song on this album is great. I highly recommend it!
Young pups could learn a thing or two
The Wolfmen's pedigree includes Adam and the Ants, Souxie and the Banshees, even a nod to Bow Wow Wow and of course the ubiquitous JackieOnassid. Anyone familiar with the Wolfmen know they chart their own course and are not afraid to be innovative either in terms of marketing or collaborating (Daler Mehndi and Namgyal Lhamo) Although I am eagerly awaiting "Thieves and Liars" the project with Daler, this debut album from the Wolfmen is more than an adequate appetite whetter for better things to come. Apart from a couple of lyrical cliches (Buzz me Kate is the major offender...) the songs are taut, energetic and most of all FUN! These 'old' dogs can teach the young pups a thing or two. The singles "Cecilie" and "Better Days" really stand out for me as do the bonus tracks 'Kama Sutra" and "Nothing to say to you". New CD is coming in May 09 ..can't wait!
Rarely buy whole album...this is a must!
I rarely buy an entire album, I'm a singles guy, little need and few artists are consistantly this solid on every song. Just heard Needle in the Camel's Eye on Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius/XM and ended up buying not only this album, but the B-Sides on the single releases. They are that good. Get it! To me they sound like a mix of Jesus & Mary Chain and Apples in Stereo, with the songwriting sensibilities of The New Pornographers and Saint Etienne. Check it!
