Capone-N-Noreaga-Money
Capone-N-Noreaga are back after a long hiatus, especially for rapper. The duo had success with their debut album, The War Report that had a particularly hardcore sound for the time it was released. They returned with The Reunion, that suffered from poor promotion and from then, Capone went to prison and N.O.R.E. worked on solo work. After Capone was dropped from Def Jam (2005), N.O.R.E. eventually left the label (2007). Since they are independent they have decided to reunite and return with their new album, Reporting The War due in July. This single, "Money" is a hard hitting banger that sounds aimed for the clubs. The snare filled, bass banging synth lining track is club sounding and definitely commercial feeling. C-N-N sound good, but the Shawty Lo feature on the hook, makes the track sound too commercial, not allowing fully the hardcore sound of the duo. Its a decent single.
This song is better than expected!
Shawty Lo makes this song!!! Im not a big fan of him, but his chorus on this Play-N-Skillz produced song is perfect. The rhymes from CNN could have been better, but its a good return for them. Definetly can bump this through the subs for a while and not get sick of it.
NY rap has become castrated
Why are most NY rappers/groups trying to sound like the South? CNN should decide to choose another career path.
