iTunes Review

A quick glance at the cover of Release Therapy, Ludacris’ fourth full-length for Def Jam, might leave the casual Ludacris fan wondering if they haven’t picked up the wrong album. Ludacris appears, with eyes closed and hands folded in a contemplative prayer-like posture, strikingly at odds with the cartoonish blowout afros and wolfish grins of Word of Mouf, and Chicken and Beer. Fortunately Release Therapy provides abundant evidence that Ludacris has not lost sight of the fact that party music, in the grand tradition of James Brown’s “Cold Sweat”, The Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight”, and Redman’s “Time 4 Sum Aksion” is very serious business indeed. Ludacris’ shines when applying his boisterous roar to the shimmering, club friendly thump of “Shake Your Money Maker” and the low-slung southern bounce of “Grew Up A Screw Up.” He falters a bit on some of the album's more ambitious numbers, which occasionally feel forced and underwritten, but ultimately Ludacris’ considerable talents are enough to make Release Therapy one of the strongest releases of his career.

Excellent Album

by Ludacris Critic

Realease Therapy by Ludacris is an excellent album. It is very well produced and the lyrics are actually pretty good. The CD kicks off to a good start with the Intro; which has a little kid narrating and introducing Luda who spits out a good verse. Then, it rolls into Grew Up a Screw Up which has a faded sound of Biggie's voice in the chorus repeating the same line. The next song Money Maker is by far the best song on the album. This should help you out, below...

Warning (Intro): Good beat, great narration, good verse from Ludacris 4/5
Grew Up a Screw Up: Fast and constant flows from Luda, B.I.G. in the chorus, and a pretty good beat. Young Jeezy does a good job too 4/5
Money Maker: This one is a defnite club-banger, with an excellent beat, fantastic chorus, and great verses from Ludacris... but with an advised topic 5/5
Girls Gone Wild: Ludacris does this one all alone, and does an alright job with it. This is a little bit more intense than Money Maker, and it has a mediocre beat 3.5/5
Ultimate Satisfaction: Field MOB and Luda attack this track and do a great job, but the flows get annoying. It is about drugs and success, with an okay beat 3.75/5
Mouths To Feed: Great beat on this song, slow and vivid rhymes, very close to the best song on this CD. Luda again does this one solo 4.5/5
End Of The Night: Bobby Valentino is featured here, with fast paced Ludacris and a calm & mellow beat. Excellent for listening at night trying to sleep 4/5
Woozy: Good production here and R. Kelly does a great job with the hook. Mediocre beat, with Luda backing it up with strong verses 3/5
Tell It Like It Is: A mediocre song, definitley a skipper 2.5/5
War With God: Pick a better topic, Luda
Do Your Time: A sad and spiritual song, with excellent and vivid ideas of the black race with Luda. Beanie Sigel, Pimp C, and C-Murder made this track even better 4.5/5
Slap: Another sad song of Ludacris's childhood and his best friend's death. A solo hit, also. You need to listen to the words to understand his feelings 4.5/5
Runaway Love: Yet, another terribly sad song (they get repetitive but are still great) about a raped and abused young girl who's parents don't believe her so she runs away 4.5/5
Freedom of Preach: Excellent tune about Luda respecting and speaking highly about women (unlike earlier songs on this album) 4.5/5

Thank you for reading my review. Overall, this album scored a high 4.5/5 stars. Keep giving us more, Ludacris. Great job with this one.

Once again, Luda kills the competition. :D Keep it up Luda! Since the explicit version is 2.00 $ more I would reccomend these songs:
1 Warning
2 Grew Up a Screw Up
3 Money Maker
5 Ultimate Satisfaction
9 Tell it Like It is

Overall: Great album with great lyrics, I love the flow the beats and the lyrics. Luda is one of the most creative rappers out there!
