Album Review

The LOX are some of the better rappers on the Bad Boy roster, more dexterous, clever, and hook-conscious than their mentor, Puff Daddy. That doesn't necessarily mean that their debut, Money, Power & Respect, is better than Puff's record, but it does mean that it's frequently exciting and invigorating. Like most late-'90s hip-hop records, the album runs way too long and is bogged down by filler, but the very best moments equal anything that has been released by Bad Boy, and in many cases even surpasses it in terms of lyrical skills and energy.

Masterpiece

Money, Power, Respect......by far the better of the two LOX LP's. This album introduces listeners to Sheek Louch, Styles P, and Jadakiss, as they collectively drop some of the most hardcore rhymes admist the "hype videos" and "shiny suits" of the late 90's. With winners like "If U Think I'm Jiggy","We'll Always Love Big Poppa", and the classic "Money, Power & Respect"; fans of the L.O.X are guaranteed a trip down memory lane...Get This One.....

The LOX — an acronym for Living Off Experience — are a Yonkers, NY-based rap trio who worked their way up through the Bad Boy training camp, writing and rapping on hits by the likes of Puff Daddy, the Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, and Mariah Carey before releasing their debut album in early 1998. Sheek (Shawn Jacobs), Jadakiss (Jayson Phillips), and Styles (David Styles) began rapping together in their childhood.
