iTunes Review

The concept behind Monkey Business is to throw a little bit of everything into the mix: rap, R&B, reggaeton, club music, funk music, and of course, a heavy dose of rock ’n’ roll. The Peas continue their reputation for guitar-propelled party anthems with “Don’t Phunk With My Heart,” “Disco Club,” and the Dick Dale-sampling “Pump It.” Additionally, there are few groups more at home with global diversity, and the Peas have no trouble embracing the mellow vibes of Hawaiian folkie Jack Johnson (“Gone Going”), then shifting into “Bebot,” a Filipino rap led by group member apl.de.ap. Even as Monkey Business moves Black Eyed Peas further than ever from their hip-hop roots, “Like That,” “Feel It,” and “Ba Bump” show that they have not forgotten how to rock the rap faithful. The album bears the mark of virtuoso musical maestro will.i.am, but Fergie is its breakout star. Only she could have kept pace with Justin Timberlake for the breathlessly sexy “My Style,” while she turns “My Humps” into the kind of irritating-yet-undeniable dance hit that only comes along once in a career.

I feel this is the path The Black Eyed Peas should have kept on for The E.N.D.. Why you may ask? Well becuase first of 13 out of the 15 songs are amazing and each one sounds totally different from the last I mean you can go from Don't Phunk with My Heart to Don't Lie and be happy becuase they are so different. This is deffinately the best album by The Peas and is one of the most diverse albums I have ever heard.

Words can't describe this album it's so incredible. Here is a song by song review of this SPECTACULAR album:

Pump It - 10/10 - "Pump It" is a perfect song to open up this album. Fergie has incredible vocals in this song...... this song is PURE Hip Hop. It's my FAVORITE song in this album. (Check out this music video.... it's AWESOME!)

Don't Phunk With My Heart - 9/10 - Great!!! No no no no don't phunk with my heart! (best lyrics ever!)

My Style - 10/10 - Very catchy!! You'll have the chorus of this song stuck in your head forever! I had this song stuck in my head for 3 days! (It wasn't a bad thing because this song is so GOOD!) This is my 5th favorite song in this album.

Don't Lie - 10/10 - WOW this song is amazing..... plus it has a good meaning. My 3nd favorite song.

My Humps - 8/10 - I would give it 10/10 because this song is amazing and has great beats except for the kinda perverted lyrics.

Like That - 7/10 - Good but not great

Dum Diddly - 10/10 - 4rd favorite song in this album... I especially like how it kinda sounds like a circus at the end.

Feel It - 6/10 - It's OK I guess.

Gone Going - 10/10 - My 2nd favorite. Once again good meaning and such good vocals!

They Don't Want Music - 7/10 - YES!!! A M A Z I N G!

Disco Club - 7/10 - Great partay song

Bebot - 8/10 - What I like about this song is that even though it's in another language

Ba Bump - 9/10 - Two thumbs up!!!

Audio Delite At Low Fedelity - 6/10 - It's good but it's the worst song in the album

Union - 9/10 - I LOVE THIS SONG!!! It's soooooooooooooooooooo gooooooooooood

Biography

Formed: 1995 in Los Angeles, CA

Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Positive messages and breakdancing are integral parts of hip-hop culture, but by 1990 those elements had been temporarily eclipsed by the tough gangsta image and bleak but compelling lyrics of West Coast groups like N.W.A. However, despite sharing a zip code, Black Eyed Peas' vision goes beyond the cracked-sidewalk...
