Album Review

Monster shows Steppenwolf trying to conquer the FM market the same way they had dominated the AM market, only instead of short rockin' hits, they began here to lengthen the tracks and inject social and political content into the music. Thus we have such tunes as "Draft Resister," "America," and "F*g." The title track was a hit in an edited version while "Power Play" became a staple of their concerts. This was the last studio album put together by the original five members. Better than average.

Monster

I love this record, Steppenwolf was always this political and finally showed it. I got to see John Kay in concert once and he was amazing. But what in h*** is a f*g? That used to be a perfectly acceptable word to all of us including gay people. It is kind of silly in my opinion to *** it out. Anyway, buy this album and end war. It is as especially relevent in these times as it was back in Vietnam days. I guess you can tell I am an old f***.

The Government is a Monster

This is an awesome album by one of my favorite bands. The title track is one of Steppenwolf's best and the lyrics are even more relevant today than they were back when it was recorded. I hope America can get back on track someday.

This is a "MONSTER" Album

One of Steppenwolf's best. A must have for any Steppenwolf fan.
