completely original
One of the truly original sounding records in a while conceived by rock and jazz drummer Ben Perowsky. Not really electronic, not really jazz or rock. A yearning/melancholic quality to it. Kind of dubby. Especially check out the tracks with Jennifer Charles of Lovage and Elysian Fields ("Dolly"), Bebel Gilberto ("Kings Fall"), Joan Wasser aka Joan As Policewoman ("Sweet Adelaide") and dig trumpeter Steven Bernstein, tubist Marcus Rojas and multi-reedist Doug Wieselman (Bill Frisell, Antony & The Johnsons, Jenny Scheinman). Producer Perowsky assembled the best of the best of the old "downtown"/Tonic/nublu scenes and made it a cohesive alluring sound.
