Customer Reviews

Kudos to Rudy!!

I have to say, this guy came completely out of left field for me. I've never heard of him before but merely happened across MoonWater while shopping on iTunes. Okay, I own TONS of this kind of music, so I know my way around a soundscape like nobody's business. There's lots of this stuff out there, believe me I know! However quantity doesn't always equal quality, and a lot of it isn't really that great. Quite a bit of it can be uninspired, cheap, tedious and derivative of better works. However, Rudy Adrian has the gift of being able to stand out from the crowd. MoonWater is utterly enchanting. Though I've been using it to lull myself to sleep at night (thus missing the latter two-thirds of the disc), I've also been able to enjoy it in the day time for relaxation. Completely engrossing and beautiful, MoonWater is a must for ambient music buffs. It's comparable to Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Brian Eno, and David Helpling to name but a few. I say "comparable" but it's definitely NOT derivative. The entire songlist is flawlessly done and is a steadfast strong release from this newbie in the genre'. Kudos to Rudy!!! I can't wait to hear more from this guy!

Reminiscient of Eno

These pieces remind me of Brian Eno's works like "On Land," "Thursday Afternoon," and parts of "Shutov Assembly." Thoughtful, positive, calming. Very recommended.

Excellent second work!!

This is my my second Rudy Adrian album. I really liked the first one, but this album is significantly different from the first in that the tracks more thematically connected as an album. The music is engaging and natural sounding. Rudy Adrian uses natural sounds with music to create a sense of being outside on a warm summer evening on some remote corner of Earth. These are fairly long tracks that vary throughout and the samples do them no justice.
