Customer Reviews
Memorex...Not Live...
Diana Ross had a chance to prove once again that she was cutting edge by releasing the 2010 World Tour Setlist of More Today Than Yesterday, but instead of releasing the live versions of her magnificent concert, she chose to play it safe and rerelease tracks already out there...too bad, since some of her live arrangements are simply amazing ( thanks Kevin Chokan). Oh well DR, one can only hope, dream, and wish for more live stuff...please!
Queen Ross
This is a great purchase for true fans, and new fans alike. I went to see her in Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre. The evening was magical, and there is no performer out there like Miss Ross. She can command the stage with only her presence, and a microphone. These songs take us on a journey which is Miss Ross' legacy which she leaves for all us fans to cherish forever. The newly released versions of "Mirror, Mirror", and "Ease on Down the Road" are unexpected treats for the fans. If you have not seen Miss Ross live, please make sure you do while she is still touring. Thanks Miss Ross for giving us More Today than Yesterday!
@mack54 - This is NOT a new album, and has never been released or mentioned as such. This is simply a Celebrity Playlist which Diana has sent to her fans, with love. These are the songs that her true fans have been humming in their heads ever since the concert. It makes me realize its true that no matter what Diana says or does, people will always shoot her down. No wonder she decided to stay silent about MJ's death. People love to try and get her down. I just wanted to say thanks again Diana for this collection, to tide us fans over until you do release your new material. Friend to Friend, Adrian.
Might be Time to cut my losses
I went to the recent concert, and although I was thoroughly disappointed that none of the material such as 'only you' 'I want you' and several others from her latest release was not included in the show, nor were the costumes anything that I hadn"t seen a thousand times, but as a true Ross fan,I vowed to always just give a standard answer when asked how was the concert "my answer was always "The Lady Always Delivers" But now after nearly forty years of supporting her, and defending her, I have grown weary of her not listening to the fans, SOOOO many lps with the same tracks over the years, the concert banter is alwys the same... I love you Diana with all my heart, and will always appreciate the years of joy that you have given me...Diana we begged you over the past year on every site possible to come back to us one more time and wow us with the majesty that we have come to expect..It hurts me deeply ( and I mean this sincerly) but I have to stop the love, because it seems that you don't listen to your fans, those of us who have spent thousands over the years, LP's CD's Posters, playbooks, T-shirts everything Diana, we were there, we even joined hands with fans across the waters for you, and you give us 'THIS'..As a photog I have taken fabulous pics of you over the years (some of which I even posted on facebook(against my better judgement) But your beauty is untouchable and still should be seen, but the photos are deciving, for all the comments rave about how much fun the show seemed to have been, when it reality it was a lackluster performance by our Queen..(not to mention the Wedgie shoes with a gown..definitely not a Diana Ross that I know) Please take a look at your Diana on Broadway(Evening with Diana) in the 70's performance, The Central park, The Radio city performance when you came through the screen, hell even the 'Take me higher concert had energy...Diana Please listen to your fans, we still believe in you, but this CD was just not worth the effort with the excption of the magnificent cover..I have said for many years...Diana needs to re=connect with Ashford and Simpson, forget the new writers, use people who know you and know how to bring the drama out in you, WE definitely need another Boss CD..there is so much trash on the airways these days that our expectations are high, yes, but YOU,have always been challenger, and we rely on you to continue to give us grace and elegance...but we also hoped that you would EVOLVE!This concert marked my 125th time seeing you since you and the girls performed at the COPA in the 60's and after this I just feel that I can't do it anymore, I'd rather remember you as Great, not just OK!
