eh.
this couldve been done alot better. most of these are kinda bleak nor do they reflect the character. i expected some dark tracks for the evil characters but they were upbeat and it didnt seem right. The only one im planning on buying is Reptile's Theme, Skrillex blew all the others out of the water by far.
Better than I thought, But does not really honor the MK Warriors.
After epic fail of Liu Kang and Sub-Zero's Theme I was a little skeptical about this album but as a true MK fan through and through I purchased it anyways. But the music does not justify the characters. This album really sounds good if you think of it as stand alone album. Shao Kahn, Goro, and Scorpion's Theme are really dark and has a nice combine dubstep and trance.
Kano, Raiden, and Johnny Cage's theme. Sound more like mainstream hip-hop, pop and tech but non the less are good songs but do nothing for the characters they are suppose to represent.
Reptile and Baraka's Theme are more like Mortal Kombat Fan made themes, very hyper sounding.
Mileena's song is the best it is the perfect 100 song.
If you don't like dubstep, techno or trance then this album is not for you.
I knocked off points because of the albums length could have done songs for (Kitana, Jade, Shang Tsung Jax, Sonya and Ermac) also for song not fully representing the character they are named after but more the artist that created them and for annoyance of Liu Kang and Sub-Zero songs.

I love this sndtk because it fits the times. Back in 1992-95 the MK national anthem was very cool and served it's purpose for exactly what it was meant for. But this is now-2011-Music for games like this has dramatically changed, been re-invented, then refined all over again. We might think that we want to hear some of the original tactics that the first couple of sntrks brought to us like someone shouting all the fighters names in the background or quick trinkets of sounds taken directly from previous MK games, but do we really? No, because that has already been done.
This new sndtrk is just that....something fresh & new with a hint of darkness and a lot of techno funk. Perfect for this new MK fighter soon to hit the store shelves. I haven't downloaded it yet, but I am going to buy it from my local retail store. To me it's well worth it. The first thing I'm gonna do after I get it is bring it straight home and burn a copy onto my xbox 360 and PS3 hard drive's, so that I can have another really great sndtrk to listen to while I play games like Ms. Pac-Man, MK vs. DCU, and a slew of other fighting games that I love playing. This sndtrk kinda reminds me of the one and only Killer Instinct one. IMO still one of THE most entertaining and well rounded video game sndtrks for a arcade fighter. It's my #1 personal fav. I think this new MK sndtrk will be my #2! This sndtrk will grow on us a lot if we take the time to listen to it just every now and then. It's already fully won me over....GO MORTAL KOMBAT!....GET OVER HERE!!
