wonderful recording
It seems as though most people use iTunes to buy pop music--which it's great for, don't get me wrong. It's just that I've read so many awful reviews of classical music albums that have been given for simply because its classical music and not britney/christina/justin. This is a great album--Academy of St. Martin in the Field do a beautiful job at both "Eine Kleine" (one of Mozart's most famous pieces) as well as Pachelbel's cannon. This complelation is definitely one worth buying.
Mozart - Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (& more)
A very good "entry album" for exploring classical music, well played by an excellent English orchestra with lots of experience in music of Mozart -- this was the same ensemble that provided the soundtrack for the movie "Amadeus." Eine Kleine Nachtmusik ("A little night music") will always be in the "classical top 40." This is a fine recording. Leopold Mozart's "Toy Symphony" is a novelty (I find it irritating after awhile), but well performed. And, of course, the famous Pachelbel "Canon" -- loved by audiences everywhere. Definitely recommend to help you begin a classical collection.
What a treasure!!!
I had heard "Pachebel" by the Chamber Orchestra Paillard on Music Choice (Cable TV) and went looking for it on ITunes. Stumbling onto this album and 'though I already had a version of "Pachebel" as well as a version of "Eine kleine Nachtmusik", I found all the previews on this album to be so enchanting and fun, I ended up downloading the entire album. What a find!!! I can only add my applause to those positive reviewers here.
