Excellent
Beautiful music. Plus, 57 incredible songs for $10.00 (17 cents a song) is an amazing deal. Plus, the implied result ("The Mozart Effect", that Mozart will increase your brain power) has shown to be a legitimate phenomenon (see: http://skepdic.com/mozart.html). Five Stars.
Perfect for the classroom
In my grade 5 classroom, when the music is on there is no talking...it is a time for independent work. The kids love it, and for many of them, it will be some of their only exposure to classical music. 57 songs? What a wonderful deal for beautiful music in the classroom...
The "Mozart effect" has been debunked
Ugh! Nice music nicely played. However marketing a product under false claims is a serious issue. The "Mozart effect" was based on one study (yes, one) that found college students had slightly higher spacial awareness for about fifteen minutes after listening to Mozart. Increased spacial awareness for fifteen minutes does not equal increased brain power, and the teachers who have commented on this product giving it five stars ought to know better!
By the way your students are behaving better due to the fact that pleasant music stimulates dopamine which bring pleasure. Pleasure does not equal smarter!
