Refreshing
Saw these guys live when they came to my school all the way from new york city and they are excellent. Not often do you come across music that is both musically refreshing and humourous (and I have high standards for each). If you dont want to buy the whole album (even though if you do you won't have to spend a dollar on the hilarious 1-minute songs), then I would defnitely recommend buying at least "Place to Go."

I love his music, it can make you crack up! I only wish iTunes also had his song Jedi Mind Trick...that song is great too
Gorgeous
Imagine Beck, Mose Alison, Tom Waits and John Prine somehow end up in that teleportation machine from "The Fly". There's a glitch, and all of them get blended together and plunked down in Memphis circa 1927. This amalgam of troubadours takes the form of a dapper, moustachioed gent named Ethan Lipton. Ethan spends the next 7 years of his life busking around the U.S. while also building a time machine that can fit in his Gladstone bag. The eureka moment comes in a Cincinatti rooming house, and all of a sudden it's Now, NYC, and here's Ethan (sans the Gladstone, alas, although if his time machine had come through the portal, too, well we'd surely be spinning a different yarn), making us tap our toes, guffaw and eventually swoon (and that's not the whiskey, either)... Consummate musicianship, gentlemanly charm and twisted humor. A great album, and an even better live show.
