After three successful solo albums, R&B singer and perpetual ladies' favorite Trey Songz joins the club of popular hitmakers who have performed on MTV's long-running Unplugged series. Singing alongside a crack-shot eight-piece live band, he delivers an interesting mix of material, including several of his own hits ("I Need a Girl," "Say Aah," and "Panty Droppa"), a mash-up of "I Invented Sex" with Marvin Gaye's like-minded classic "Let's Get It On," and some unexpected covers like Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" as well as Kings of Leon's "Black Roses." While the majority of his songs are of the straight-ahead "love you down" variety, it's an unexpected and pleasant surprise to hear him shake things up, and the musicians who accompany him lend a much-welcome richness to the tracks. Relatively brief at just eight songs, it's still a quality release.

That Use Somebody cover was awesome. Nice change of pace. He really nailed it.
This is AMAZING, and quit hatin on him
He sounds so amazing Live. He is definitely one of the best in the game right now. He made that Kings of Leon song sound pretty cool too. Just adding a little urban flavor to an already great song.
And some people need to quit hatin. If you dont like a song, just ignore it, dont bash it. There is no need makin him look bad because you dont agree with his tastes. And who cares about proper english in a song. Its music dawg, its a form of self expression and he can do and say whatever he feels like saying. Its called "YO" Side of the Bed because thats how he says it in the song. It doesnt make him retarded because he doesnt use proper english. I know for a fact that Trey has an incredible vocab and can write songz with the best of them. So get off his back and let him do his thing. You take care of your ownself before you go trying to take care of other people.
