Funny and catchy, sometimes serious too
My favorite song on this album is "Woody Allen Surrogate," which is funny and catchy. The whole album has a wry sense of humor, even on more serious songs like "I'm in Lust" or "Coffee Den." The album overall feels like a throwback, with plenty of touches from '50s and '60s rock, especially on "Sundaes on a Sunday Afternoon" and the duet "Nobody's Wife." The love song to country singer Laura Cantrell is really catchy too.
