Who wants Vsnares?
Welcome to the wonderful world of Timesig, Aaron Funk's new Planet Mu imprint. I can't think of a better way to introduce the label to the surely by now suspecting world than with My So-Called Life. The album is typical VS: manic, excessive, ridiculous, violent, aggressive, lyrical, poetic ... It plays like a career retrospective, especially given the two re-dos (Aaron2 and Hajnal2), each given a new ultra-VS jungle feel. This almost takes me back to Higgins and 237, but like recent efforts, seems to get stuck around HCCBU - not a bad thing at all, even if I'm one of the odd VS ultras that thinks Winter and My Downfall are his high-points. Anyway, Aaron2 shreds, Who Wants Cake is sickly funny (not for fans of the mentally retarded - his word, not mine), Goodbye9/Hello 10 is pure romance VS-style, Hajnal2 is Hajnal ++, and My So-Called Life is like a lost track from Rossz. It all adds up to the most satisfying VS release in some time - kudos to Aaron for saving it for his label debut. For fans of: Venetian Snares, Ceremony, Converge, Trash Talk, Trevor Brown, and Chuck Palahniuk.

All Hail Venetian Snares!
He's gone and done it again folks!!! Venetian Snares NEVER disappoints and I would recommend this album to any fan of his, especially if you like his more aggressive work. Although aggressive at points, this album is very personal to him in regards to his process and evolution as an artist. These tracks are snippets of his life, a diary of sorts, of the time and events that he experienced during the making of this album. I'm extremely proud and honored to have my artwork on the cover of this album!
