Album Review

Combining the sounds of West Africa with English folk, American blues, and the Italian tarantella, My Wilderness is the typically well-traveled fourth solo album from London-based singer/songwriter Piers Faccini. Released through the Tôt ou Tard label, the former Charley Marlowe frontman's follow-up to 2009's Two Grains of Sand features 13 poetic tracks inspired by the likes of John Martyn and Nick Drake, including collaborations with French cellist Vincent Segal and Malian kora player Ballaké Sissoko. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi

Cannot get enough...

I first happened upon Piers in the Troo Music Tent at Bonnaroo '07, since then he hasn't disappointed me. This long awaited new record features his timeless salt of the earth lyrics & folk beat. He's by far my favorite contemporary songwriter. I downloaded this album last night and listened straight through.

This album has BONES, he's got a voice.

This album has BONES!! I love his original voice, smoky, hauntingly elegant, and timeless. Like the title of the album, it’s written from a personal place, with transcending melodies. I couldn’t help but be taken on journey. Today, with a lot of music that’s busy, infused with riffs for the ADD’s of society, this album took me to a much need quiet place. “My wilderness” gets better with each listen, there’s magic in the infinite subtleties.

Piers Faccini a True Musician!
