Like a tasting plate at your favorite restaurant, there's a little something for everyone on The Dimes latest EP "New England". Hinting at the historic concept album to come, frontman Johnny Clay has momentarily drawn the curtain back to reveal the growth of the band since the "Silent Generation". The incorporation of banjo, slide guitar and more dense melodies never overpower the strong tunes, only accenting Clay's elegant wordplay and vocals which remain at the forefront of the band's sound. From a reverent take of John Lennon's "Watching the Wheels" to the fireside majesty of "Ballad of Winslow Homer" an artist is clearly at work here.
One of my favorite bands
The dimes are a great group. They are orchestrated very well and they have a unique musical ability and sound that is uncommon in today's industry! I hope you will check them out and give them a listen... In my opinion they are destined for greatness!
