Marching On
After an 8+ year hiatus, Germany' electro engineers are back with NWM. And what a comeback. The programming & sound design are what you would expect from true masters of their craft. The production is sublime and NWM should please the greatest of skeptics. The stunning "Crossfire" will engulf you with synthesized bliss. "Let's Drop Bombs' is a dance floor commando to be reckoned with. Intricate percussion and laser guided programming make this one simply jaw dropping. Other highlights include "Machine Drum," ""Dead Market" and "Little World." Each sonic gem will take you to new places that demand revisiting. Considering the multitude of mediocre electro out there, NWM is out of this world.
Unexpected After Eight Years...
The simple fact that this album arrived after 8 years is amazing in its own. But I must admit, I was not prepared for the change in sonic textures this album produces compared to where they left off. Its quite clear that Daniel Myer is looking to distinguish each of his projects from each other - this sounds less like Destroid and Covenant and more like a rebooted version of their earlier work. Give the album a few listens before you judge - this is simply one of the best efforts by Haujobb and a welcome change. As a fan of most of his projects/collaborations (Architect, Destroid, Covenant) I can appreciate how he's not just re-making the same music over and over like some do (Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber - I'm looking at you…)

It's been like what - 8 years since the last full-length? This is the Chinese Democracy for Daniel Myers. Too much space, synth noodling, lyrics that have little resonance, and cheesy factory sounds. Where is the thick, tight, 4 to the floor of yesterday? The answer is Destroid.
