YEAH! Big day for Naptown and I am GLAD to be FIRST
Hey! Man, this is a STRONG project! So glad to see so many different cats from the Midwest and their varied styles. Strong appearances by Rhymefest and ShadowKat Nightson on 'The Hurt Game') and The Parker Brothaz (one of Indianapolis' best-kept secrets, hopefully this is the change of all that) weigh in heavy and show classic MC tag-team teamwork with 'Full Blown'. Nappyville and Riddles bring a new level of game to the proceedings with a pair of records that will have fools wildin' in the club. But the album's highlight is the no-brainer, club-banger 'Breath Control' featuring 'alpha.live' I heard this record's preview on Nightson's website and knew that this was a record that had to be heard. The track is 'futuristic-funk-retro' with a snappin' snare and insistent key stabs. 'Breath Control' is something that comes and I picture b-boys losing it and stealing all the attention from the hoochies trying to 'back it up' when the jam hits. It's sick. This is a nice representation of some of the many different styles that Indianapolis and The Midwest have to offer when it comes to hip-hop. A solid record from front to back. Proud to say I got to it first!
