So, I've had the opportunity to hang out, perform with, and listen to live...and let me tell you, this album is going to send some shockwaves through the a cappella community. A relatively new group, 8Beat has come a long way in just the past 5 years. It's been an absolute honor to get to know all of you guys. Congrats on an awesome album!!

Breakout Album!
As the Original Bad Boys of RIT A Cappella, Eight Beat Measure has been making music for over 23 years, with several albums along the way. No Safety Nets represents a new era in the group's storied history as they break out into the national collegiate a cappella scene. The technical mastery of a cappella greats Ed Boyer and Dave Sparandio is greatly complimented by creative arrangements and a smooth ensemble sound. Eight Beat's signature in-your-face style is present from start to finish, and should definitely be checked out by any fan of a modern a cappella music.
Not what I was expecting...
After all the hype I've heard about this group, I figured I'd check them out. That seems to have been a mistake. This album is certainly the most overproduced a cappella recording I've ever heard. I suppose if you don't come into this expecting some pure vocal music you won't be disappointed like me, but half of the time these songs don't even sound like voices.
My advice is to stay away from this album and check out some other a cappella albums that were done the right way.
