Only good for Smith vs. Smith - forget the rest
Heard "Smith vs. Smith" via Pandora and loved it. I tried to find that track via the "Future Sound of Jazz, Vol. 8" album, but it was only available for download via this four-track EP. I like "Smith vs. Smith" for the strong groove and the minimal electronic texture, the rhythm nicely mixes the feel of a live jazz kit with a sampled hip-hop beat. But the remaining three tracks sound like throwaways that don't match the quality or imagination of that one standout track. I plan to seek out the "Future Sound of Jazz" album as an alternative, but for now, that one track off of this otherwise worthless EP is all you need.
