A Truly Unique Connection
The Nostalgia soundtrack is a truly unique connection of vocal elements and story. I've long been a fan of "alternative" music; this is in a genre all its own. The individual tracks range through styles and emotions, creating images of light and dark, soft and harsh, mood and celebration.
At some points, I marvel at the versatility of the human voice. There are instances in this soundtrack of the voice becoming instrument and others of the voice becoming pure sensation. The experience of listening to the range in creativity and style is one I would recommend to listeners of any age, regardless of their preference for one type of music or other.
I'm delighted the soundtrack is available only as an album, for to experience a single track without the others would be to miss the connection of the whole experience.
Inspiring
This exceptional soundtrack is beautifully haunting. The first of its kind, Nostalgia's creative use of the unaccompanied human voice soothes and inspires its listener. Each song speaks to a different place in the heart and each evokes a plethera of emotions, yet all 22 tracks are part of a seamless journey that its listener will embark upon and want to travel over and over again.
A Moving Musical Experience
This beautiful soundtrack is the first time in movie history where an entire film score was recorded using only human voices. The result is a soothing, moving musical experience that takes the listener to 20 lovely musical landscapes and lets us explore these haunting and mysterious places.
Over thirty vocalists were used in recording this soundtrack including a country-western artist, an opera singer, a gospel vocalist, a crooner, a Tanzanian singing in the click-y language Xhosa, and ex-Supreme Susay Greene.
Arlan Boll, from AB Studios, has lovingly and painstakenly composed and assembled this unique soundtrack that compliments and enhances the vision that James Bartling had for his film Nostalgia.
