Genius
At this point, I'm just hoping that there's more to come from Branches. This EP is alternately thoughtful and playful, and there isn't a track I don't like.
Usually with a new band's first release, you have to wade through either underdeveloped melodies or immature lyrics to find some hints of promise and potential, but these guys sound like they've already hit their stride.
"The Inventor's Daughter" is my favorite, and the anthemic "Come on into the yellow light" ending to that song gets stuck in my head almost daily.
I hope this is the first of many (frequent) releases.
PS I saw them live and they're even better live than on this EP.

I love branches's music! A friend showed me their music a while back and I'm soooooo happy they put an EP on itunes! each song is unique and original but the band's style is a common thread through each one. I bought the entire EP and it was one of the best $4.95 ever spent. The Inventor's Daughter is such a beautiful work of art, and the lyrics almost made me cry. LOVE THIS MUSIC. :) God Bless.

and your heart is yearning to be touched, and lifted, and warmed, and encouraged.....
and you're willing to take a deep breath and sit quietly on one song....
then rip off your shirt and dance on another.....
then, you'll probably want to grab up these tunes and listen to them again and again and again....
they're really that good. check it out yourself and report back. you'll see what i mean.
