iTunes Review

Fans of Bebo Norman’s early work will find Ocean an impressive return to form by this always-thoughtful Christian singer/songwriter. Norman’s great strength is to present sweeping spiritual themes in everyday terms, a talent he very much displays in these songs. While not completely circling back to the folk-based sound of his indie days, Ocean does invoke some of the confessional intimacy found on his first few releases. The contemplative acoustic ambiance of “Could You Ever Look At Me” and “In the Middle” feature lyrics at once vulnerable and deeply reverent. With the help of producer Jason Ingram, Norman offers such uplifting radio-friendly anthems as “Here Goes,” “I Hope You See Jesus” and the title tune. The modern-day hymn “God Of My Everything” frames his supple tenor with stark piano lines. Overall, Ocean excels in portraying human brokenness and need as it combines a compassionate message with heartfelt words of praise. Ocean recalls Norman's initial charm and passion while offering music very much in today’s Christian pop/rock mainstream.

Great but fluffy

First off Bebo, I hope you and your family are doing well. Second, I'll always be your biggest fan and will see you in concert on October 7. Third, I have to offer some criticism. So many songs on your last 3 albums have been "fluffy.". They might give you a warm fuzzy feeling when you listen to them, but they aren't really powerful songs. Luckily THIS album has a few songs that aren't fluffy, but where is the old RAW music? You need more acoustic songs with raw lyrics. Maybe you could release an acoustic album? The Hammer Holds, Drifting, Nothing without You, Where the Tree Stands Still, Great Light of the World, etc, are the types of songs that, I, as a fan, would like to hear more of. Bebo is AWESOME live, so everyone needs to see him in concert. He's in Texas Oct 7-10, so go online and check his tour schedule. To first time Bebo listeners, you will enjoy his music. One of my favorite songs that I play of his around Christmas is his version of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. My friends are always saying, "this is a cool version. Who sings this?". Take care Bebo :)

Bebo at his best!

Amazing songs, amazing voice, amazing sound. The kind of album you play from top to bottom over and over again.

Unbelievable!

Wow! What an awesome album!!! This is Bebo at his finest! Wonderful vocals with deep meaning and incredible sound! He keeps getting better and better. Buy now, you won't regret your purchase.
