A much better album this time around
The past efforts of the silk road project at pseudo world music was it's best kitch. This effort is a much more welcome addition bleneding the best of both worlds. Ziporyn is as good as ever in his contribution and Golijov works much better at just composing this sort of thing the his attempt at other concert music. The playing all around is tops so if you where hesitant to try the last albums go ahead and jump on in on this one. -Bz
Expansive
Perhaps the best of the Silk Road releases. Truly lovely with whispers of hidden venues buried in the midsts. Powerful at times, sublime at others, string and percussion extraordinary. Oh, for the expanse of Mongolia's First Empire amd the legacy it left musically...
Amazing
Just saw them live at the Meyerson in Dallas, Texas. Absolutely the most incredible musical experience I've had in a long time. LOVE it!
