"World of the Plastic Beach" Preview

Can I just say how awesome/absolutely ridiculous the "World of the Plastic Beach" preview is? 30 seconds of Snoop Dogg dancing to 80s-infused funk riffs...what could be better?

Although

I was disappointed that they didn't release any B sides with this LP, I still enjoyed the remixes, especially the She is Danger remix and the Stylo remix. I've always loved watching the storyboards, so that was fun to see.
I think that people need to stop comparing this to Demon Days. Gorillaz are not a band that's going to repeat themselves just because they did something right with that fantastic album. Plastic Beach is something entirely new and deserves to be looked at by itself, not in comparison to Demon Days. So this album doesn't appeal to some people. So what? Next time, Gorillaz' sound will evolve again and be something entirely new. They will always continue to try new things and experiment, so you're never going to be comfortable with their latest sound. Damon Albarn is one of the most creative and inspirational musicians alive today, and even if you don't like this album, at least he was willing to try something new and not try to create a "second Demon Days".
But I quite enjoyed this LP, and it's worth five bucks if only for the two remixes mentioned above and the storyboard video (assuming you already own the On Melancholy Hill video, because that is excellent)
.
Gorillaz, I hope you continue to surprise and outrage and "disappoint".

Why did they make this?

I bought the Gorillaz's Plastic Beach album right when it came out. I had to say I was kind of disappointed. Now they have this? They have three remixs, and 3 new videos. They try to jip you off making you buy Melancholy Hill all over again. I'm very disappointed. The album only track isn't that good either, again it only plays the best part of the album. in Conclusion: DON'T BUY THIS ALBUM!!

Conceived as the first "virtual hip-hop group," Gorillaz blended the musical talents of Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, Blur's Damon Albarn, Cibo Matto's Miho Hatori, and Tom Tom Club's Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz with the arresting visuals of Jamie Hewlett, best known as the creator of the cult comic Tank Girl. Nakamura's Deltron 3030 cohorts Kid Koala and Del tha Funkee Homosapien rounded out the creative team behind the Gorillaz quartet, whose virtual members included 2-D, the cute but spacy...
