Jack & Danielle: 2 great tastes that taste great together

Hot damn, this is a great song. DATS' usual lamentations and lovely voice meets Jack's layered & bittersweet production. Well done, kids.

Layers provide warmth

The original version of this song is lovely, but slightly haunting, and pleading. I find this version, with Jacks arrangement to be slightly more hopeful. Danielle has a lovely voice, both literally, and figuratively, she captures the voice of her generation, but proves with her old soul that we're all not that different. I find her music necessary and important. Jack is a master arranger, and adds layers to a song with a delicate touch. In this case, he is adding the perfect sprig of parsley to an already perfect plate of food. What his sprinkles do though, is change this song from an almost sad pleading one to something with a bit more hope. I love the original more, but if this richer arrangement brings more folks to Danielle, then that is a good thing.
