Wonderful!!

This album does not disappoint my anticipation for it. The very personal and meaningful lyrics are, once again, sung beautifully alongside great music. It's so awesome to see what God speaks through people who are faithful in the gifts God has given them, and who are willing instruments for His Kingdom. Grateful thanks to downhere and the family and friends who support them.

A Terrific Album

Downhere has once again shown their amazing ability to make great-sounding music that carries a spiritual punch. If someone merely hears the music on the band's new album, "On the Altar of Love", they are likely to enjoy the usual great compositions, vocals and instrumental skills that this band routinely displays. But if one listens to the lyrics and gives thought to their meaning, they will also find deep insight, challenge and inspiration - all from a Christian rock album from one of the finest Christian bands performing today.

The album contains qualities consistent with Downhere's past efforts, including high quality vocal and instrumental performances, well-crafted music with intelligent lyrics and stylistic variety coupled with biblical fidelity. At the same time, it displays an unusual depth of mature understanding in the Christian faith.

The album is decidedly upbeat in its message, expressing thanks and praise for blessings from God. Real depth of faith is shown when the band deals with such issues as suffering, pain and sacrifice. Instead of expressing angst, the band's message is that these trials are not only endurable, but can be beneficial as part of the outworking of God's plan. Ultimately, the album is a celebration of God's goodness and kindness in both the pleasures and heartaches of the believer's life. The title track calls for the listener to "lay it all on the altar of love." It is a call to a life of faith in God, delivered with good sounds and pleasantly sung words that carry a robust message.

Personal favorites include Only the Beginning, Rest, Let Me Rediscover You, Seek, Holy, For the Heartbreak and On the Altar of Love. I highly recommend this album.

Hooray, the new album's out

Uplifting, inspiring and comforting.
