And the Moneynotes originally began as Dr. Horsemachine and the Moneynotes in Scranton, PA, in 2006. After the self-described "vaudevillian country bluegrass pop" group completed its first EP, This Year We Hunt, in 2007, bassist Austin Smith returned to his native Texas.
