BUYER BEWARE!!!!
Don't waste your 99 cents on these crappy rehashes of some really good pop songs. Wait 'till iTunes gets the real deal or just buy them on your own and download them from a CD, like I had to with "Yellow River" by Christie and "Indiana Wants Me" by R.Dean Taylor. Strangely enough there are some tunes with the original artists re-doing the vocals, i.e. Jerry Corbetta singing "Green Eyed Lady", but they still sound weak and tired out, and all of the backing tracks are done by an anemic soundalike band that sucks the life out of the songs. Suggestion: Double check the iTunes Music Store for the originals, some of which are actually available here such as "The Night Chicago Died" by Paper Lace.
Re-Recordings
Apple needs to put a disclaimer on these albums. I'd always had good luck with my scavenging for 70s singles--but tonight I got took! 5 of 6 including this album were re-recordings and not the originals---aaaaarrrrgh!
Not the Originals!
As the previous two reviewers noted, these are NOT the original hit recordings of these songs. One or two of them sound close, but most sound downright awful. If you want the original songs you remember from back in the day, stay away from this album!
