One Way Ticket to ROCK UNMERCIFULLY

Enthusiasts of rock unfiltered, lend me your ears. Many moons ago, I had a one way ticket to see the Darkness play in Nastyville, Tennessee. Due to an unexpected freak adult kickball playoff injury before the concert however, my collarbone exploded into a million pieces and my bicep tendon ripped into two. "Heavens!" exclaimed the masses. Immediately, fear whelmed inside my shaken bones. Would this injury mean that I might have to miss the greatest concert in the history of the Music City!?!?!? At this point in the story, all of the John Mayer fans are probably thinking about paramedics and first-aid kits. Their rock is filtered, their school bags full of #2 pencils but lacking lead. They are soft and butter their bagles with strawberry creamcheese. I was weaned on the Darkness. As a young boy, I was afraid of it at night, yet awed by its mystery and power. As a man, I was just that - willing to endure one night's worth of excruciating pain in order to be permitted to a land of rock, where I might be with people not unlike myself. People who demand blood on their grade A angus, people who spit on DMB "albums" and people who demand that their ROCK BE UNFILTERED AND UNMERCIFUL. The Darkness is just that. The show was worth it. A little ale to wet the whistle and boom! The pain went away. One Way Ticket to Hells Yeah, homeslices. The Darkness is back. No one is safe. Submit to the dueling six-strings and embrace the NEW MASTERS OF RRRROOOCCCCCKKKKK!

GR8!!!!!

This song is the return of 80s hard rock!!!!

Bye-Bye Rap and Hip-Hop. HELLO ROCK n' ROLL

The Darkness are one af a few bands that can pull off the 70's heavy metal sound decently. Justin Hawkins with his best Freddy Mercury pompus falsetto fronts this band phenominally. It's great to hear a song with out any words like "Mutha" or "Gangsta" I am so sick of that S###. Here we got guys that can actually play instruments, write their own songs(without sampling), and and are original. Let's get rid of the rap and get back to the ROCK!

Biography

Formed: 2000 in Norfolk, England

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s, '10s

England's the Darkness centered around irrepressible frontman Justin Hawkins (vocals/guitars/keyboards), who, along with his guitar-playing baby brother Dan, bassist Frankie Poullain, and drummer Ed Graham, single-handedly resurrected the rather unfashionable sounds and attitudes of late-'70s hard rock for an unsuspecting generation. Following the demise of an earlier, conspicuously synth pop-based outfit named Empire, the Hawkins brothers sowed the seeds of what would become the Darkness at an impromptu...
