WHAT?!
Why am I the only one who has written a review about this cd? It's beautiful in it's simplicity and it's raw sound. My fav. songs are: 7) I WILL LOVE YOU and 8) EVERYTIME. I love Fisher...
Beautiful Sound...
First heard Fisher doing the "Beautiful Life" song on a Toyota commercial... song is downloadable from their Web site. Duo has a unique yet accessable sound. Songs are really well performed.
Fish these Waters
The last time I spoke with Ron (Wasserman) in 1999, "I will love you" was being considered for the love song of the Costner vehicle, "Message in a Bottle"; they were up against Faith Hill or Beth Nielsen Chapman. Sadly, their song was not chosen. Although I understand the fiscally safe bet of Hill or Chapman, (if I were the music supervisor on that film) I can say objectively I would have chosen their song over what was used in the film. That, of course, is no guarantee they would have popped at that point. Like for a handful of really talented composing bands, talent alone cannot overcome the vested interests of the recording industry, which, again, emphasizes the point that the best way to support these great bands is to buy their work here or elsewhere. After ClearChannel owns everything, I guess they'll be able to rotate the same songs over and over agin, obviating the need for any new music. This won't work for very long, but I'm sure the industry salivates at the proposal of such a (flawed) model.
