Paramore's sweetest ballad
The only exception shows how much growth the band has made since their last album riot! and its a good transition. This song has been stuck in my head since I first heard it and it has been a big inspiration for me for my writing. Thank you paramore for writing such a sweet and sincere ballad about love. no one can do it quite like you guys.
to the die-hards..
I've been with Paramore since AWKIF, and it feels good to see them get the recognition they deserve. The Only Exception is quite a different sound for Paramore, but being on Brand New Eyes, it really shows great growth for the band. I can go through All We Know Is Falling and Riot! and feel every bit of bitterness, sadness, anger, and piece of revenge, all wrapped up in a let's-just-rock attitude, that those albums scream. With Brand New Eyes, and namely The Only Exception, Paramore reveals their softer side, yet still admitting to a dark heart..."And I've always lived like this, keeping a comfortable distance. And up until now I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness.” The reason for 4 stars? It’s not because I don’t think this is a beautiful song, because I do, it’s just that I feel that Paramore’s sound is being based off this one song with it’s rising popularity. This song is only part of it, really. Brand New Eyes is the product of an evolving band, and they are only getting better. I think you should buy this EP, and any other Paramore you can get your hands on. $2.49 for all this from an awesome band -that’s a straight up steal.
