Praise for "Orange Glow"

"Touch the light, orange glow to wash your soul, illuminate you, out of sight..." After taking in Amel's classy, organic jazz album Lovely Standards, you might not guess that the artist had a tune like "Orange Glow" in her. However, just adjacent to her love for Rogers & Hammerstein is a penchant for vibrant, soulful, electro-funk exhibitions that would make Prince proud. She does both uniquely well. "Glow" is driven by a midtempo high-hat-sparse groove, awash with psychadelic and colorful synth stabs. By the contrast, the lyrics take their cue from the text of a relaxation exercise, while the music invites you to sway, rock, and raise your heart rate with it. Kudos to Larrieux for turning out a single that feels like it was warped forward from 1976 into 2012 picking up every good vibe along the way.

Thank you Amel!!

I am so happy that Amel has released a single and I can't wait for the album to drop. The woman can do no wrong!

Awesome

This is how R&B should sound. Sweet and effortless. Amiel should be a bigger star than she already is. Whether it's solo or in "Groove Theory" always impresses with gorgeous voice. She reminds me a little of the late Minnie Riperton with how light she sounds. I can't wait for her album to drop.
