Perfect Power Pop!

     

This is a simply stellar album in the vein of Beatle-esque bands like the Apples in Stereo and Cotton Mather. Oranjuly is, apropos of its name, great summer music, with killer hooks and interesting arrangements. Having recently seen them perform in Boston, I can attest that they also put on a fiery live show! Their next album is due out shortly, and judging from the songs off of it they played when I heard them, it should be just as irresistible a concoction of chiming guitars, catchy vocals, and head-bobbing drums. There aren't a lot of albums on which every song is both fun and interesting to listen to, but this is one of them.
