Orphans, Char's pregnancy EP - A needed addition to any Char Mar collection

This showcases light sounds and soft melodies that are unfamiliar in the aggressive "Stromata", and the trancing "On Your Shore". Even with her ballads, which are amazing, this is still different. I don't think Charlotte will ever come back to this type of sound landscape of noises because she wrote this new batch of songs during her pregnancy with Ronen. It's almost safe to say the three new ones are lullabies for her Ronen, which is beautiful. If you are looking for something pop/rock aggressive, which is a Char Mar signature, go check out "Stromata", if you want mainstream, check out "On Your Shore". If you want a soft car ride during a rainy afternoon, pick this up.

This review is not to lead out of the old songs, because there are some solid gems in this. "Stromata"'s B-Side, "Habit" is a earth shattering song while "Snowflake" embraces her tracing piano with her angelic soft voice. Charlotte expresses her soft, melodic side in this piece. "The Stalker Song" is a Charlotte Martin fan classic. For a fan of Charlotte who doesn't attend the live shows, the song probably wouldn't be as close to the heart, but this song is adorable, and totally Charlotte. And don't worry, you get your nice dark, dark, dark Charlotte Martin in her old master "Raven". It wouldn't be a completely Charlotte Martin work without a dark shadowy corner to compliment the room.

She finishes the piece with a fantasy realm of "Many Rivers". A interesting side that Charlotte Martin hides in the back. This song is very different from most of her catalogue. Lyrically, very powerful, but the vocals are different. Much more, freeing.

Enjoy "Orphans". A needed addition to any Charlotte Martin collection.

The new songs:

1. Is The Called Desire
2. Galaxies
3. Outerspace
