THIS BAND IS ON FIRE
I work for a well known music publication that you all know. I listen to tons of music. It's my job. I am not going to waste my time with a long review filled with over-analysis. THIS IS THE BEST RECORD I HAVE HEARD IN A LONG LONG TIME. I saw this band live at South by southwest this year and they are on fire. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up. This band is going to explode.
Music lover
Great to hear something to get me out of my slump of stuff i've listened to for to long. I'm excited to get new music and run it into the ground from over playing it in my head phones. I'll be chillin this album while i skate Europe in a month. thanks guys for being original n keepin it real for music critics and lovers bent on finding something un-like the ordinary.
Best album of 2009?
The year is young and I am cautious to make such a dramatic statement, but holy cow... this album is fantastic. Wish I could give you some applicable comparisons, but all I can come up with is the piano driven tunes and voice of Oklahoman Jesse Tabish is somewhat reminiscent of Coldplay & Chris Martin, but I don't DARE compare - this is waaaayyyy better. The instrumentation, especially the strings, are gorgeous, contemplative and poignant. One review said “Balancing epic grandeur with quiet restraint” and I can’t sum it up any better. I can’t wait to see this act live. Best tracks so far: E Minor, Speed Tape, Matador, It Was the Night, AM Theme, my favorite, Epic. This album will make you feel – and in music, there is truly no greater gift.
