Lush, Rich & Beautiful
I've been watching Matthewdavid for quite some time since he began making beautiful DJ sets on dublab.com. His style epitomizes LA’s beat scene mixing disjointed beats with organically driven powerful walls of lush sound. There couldn’t be a more exciting release this year in the electronic world. Imagine a vast ocean covered in algae producing sounds of every genre. This is when the storm hits curling sound spectrums upon themselves and submerging them for only moments until they breach again with pristine clarity.
Amazing
If you're into beat music with that slow, heavily textured, California-esque groove to it..I highly recommend this. the whole album, especially "International", is simply fantastic.
not sunrise luminescence but okay
still think the best song he did is "sunrise luminescence" it was like the underground Buddhist hippie "whip my hair" from Thailand of 2010 before whip my hair was concieved. This along with Ruby Suns "eerie Lake" and Hudson Mohawks "Yonard" pretty much are the best electronic unknown undanceable tracks of 2010/09. "Motion Trouble" and "Know you're not alone" are I think his 2nd and 3rd best respectively. This album seems to be more of a wall of sound type direction.
