Incredible
Can someone help me clean my brain off the wall?
This man has to be the best bassist in the world! Forget that, he's a virtuoso! 'From Under the Weight of Knowing' and 'Mudita' are my absolute favorites. I listen to this album while I'm working on my papers & it amazes me every time. He makes me wonder why I bother to pick up my bass anymore lol. If you can't appreciate this music, you have no right to listen to music.
A full inventive score on a single instrument!
The sheer variety of tones, melodies, and moods Jeff is able to bring out of fretless/piccolo basses is as amazing as his innovation of worldly scale transitions and harmonics. Moreover he is able to bring his beautiful extended range bass talent in to complete one man compositions which would otherwise require accompanying instruments.
