iTunes Review

Before Badmotorfinger, Soundgarden was just another mauling grunge band, capable of playing post-Led Zeppelin style rock at excessive decibels as well as any other band. But Badmotorfinger changed all that as the band renewed its sense of focus and precision. They still offer a paint-peeling, hard-rock assault, but this time the band's songs and over-amped guitars roared with accessibility. Chris Cornell's soaring, rock-star vocals sends the band's new tunes into the realm of the sublime. From this point on, Soundgarden would reside alongside Nirvana and Pearl Jam as grunge's biggest bands. Key tracks: "Rusty Cage," "Outshined," and Jesus Christ Pose"

1st i must say the '90s rocked! nothing cheesy about it.
Soundgarden was my favorite rock band of the '90s. As for this album, I just loved it. i played this tape non-stop. My favorite song was and IS "Room A Thousand Years Wide", the "Drawing Flies"...over all the whole album is great, that's an understatement though.

I hope these guys can get along and get together to make another album since they are all alive.

8/10
Badmotorfinger blends early Soundgarden's Black Sabbath-style hard rock with grunge. Great sound, but the album has a few problems. For one, every song sounds similar (even though none of them are weak). Out of twelve songs, only three stand out as excellent (tracks 2 through 4). In sum, Badmotorfinger has amazing consistency and three awesome songs going for it. It's good, but Chris Cornell hadn't quite hit his stride yet.

Best Soundgarden album!!!

Soundgarden made a place for heavy metal in alternative rock. Their fellow Seattle rockers Green River may have spearheaded the grunge sound, but they relied on noise rock in the vein of the Stooges. Similarly, Jane's Addiction were too fascinated with prog rock and performance art to appeal to a wide...
