Album Review

While Christian music comes in many flavors, it’s seldom built with the treadmill, the club, or outer space in mind. Group 1 Crew look to change all that by combining the Black Eyed Peas’ sound with a bit of ‘80s electro, specifically the genre’s fascination with sci-fi and space. Outta Space Love repeats all five tracks from the group’s Spacebound EP, adding seven additional cuts of synth-driven, hook-filled dance music that occasionally references something futuristic. The gospel factor is often even more subtle, but when this group declares “Thank God It’s Friday” on the opening “Live It Up,” they really mean it, and proceed to fill the album with positive messages and clean lyrics. Try the future reggae and tobyMac guest shot on “Let’s Go” for the group at their chilled best, or check the title track for a little of that Jesus-as-spaceman spin (“This love has saved my life/So let you take me to my leader”). The closing “Manipulation” skillfully explains the whole process with “I’m like the messenger who/Told you about the good news/And soon you’re downloading the tune/ I approved on iTunes.” No tech savvy Christian with a taste for slick dance music and futurism would disagree.

Way Better than "The End"

Group 1 Crew has outdone the Black Eyed Peas with their latest album... Great party music from start to finish with a great message

Awesome

Group1Crew is like the ChristIan Black Eyed Peas. But they can actually sing 

OUTTA SPACE L♥VE THAT'S OUTTA THIS WORLD!

As Group 1 Crew's music was exposed nationwide on America's Got Talent featuring the ill-est backup dance crew, Studio One Young Beast Society, it's refreshing to see Christian music and arts being reached to the mainstream showing that God given talent is more than just a means of display, but a supernatural love that transcends everything imaginable. This is what using the gifts that God created to His children is supposed to be about. Unlike their previous records, you will not get preached with this stuff, however the lyrics convey an understanding about the love of Christ in a parable like manner. It was never about selling out for recognition, but instead setting the example of being a true follower in reaching out to those who are lost in this generation. If you track down G1C well enough you'd know that they wouldn't set out to perform without sharing their love and passion for Jesus and the gospel with the plus side of making it all fun while at it. So as we crank the music let's encourage one another through prayer and faith, and "live it up" to this life that shows we aren't just made up of star stuff, but a love that's OUTTA THIS WORLD, Amen!

"In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." 1 John 4:10
