The Return of Great Music
Amazing album! This album covers everything from Pop, Funk, R&B, to Reggae and old school Motown sounds. An awesome musical journey, packed with amazing vocals, funky grooves, and tasty horn lines! When can I see these guys live?!?!?!
Great debut!
Very ambitious, meticulously produced debut album by TBP out of Madison. Super-tight horns (think Tower of Power, plus some obvious JB's influence) plus a solid rhythm section (guitar and bass are especially strong) – the throwback instrumentation is refreshing. Soul tracks are interspersed with funk and afro tracks, with the album building up to the epic 'Overture' and 'Always' tracks, and resolving nicely after that. The band showcases their versatility here, so they have a lot of space to explore in subsequent releases. It will be interesting to see what they focus on next.
