Another Beautiful Triumph
Ultimae records new compilation album, the second chapter to Oxycanta. Oxycanta-Winter Blooms holds true to Ultimae records signature musical style. From ambient tracks like Hybrid Leisureland’s “Strawberry Planetarium” to up-tempo suedo-trance, Sgnl_Fltr’s “Waters”; Winter Blooms explores the realms of electronic music and expands upon them. “Sleepy Shadow” moves from driving rhythms to soothing vocals creating both a relaxing and haunting atmosphere, illustrating the range of this album. Also featured on Winter Blooms is a new track by Aes Danna. “Nexus” make use of steady rhythms combine with beautiful strings, indeed this is certainly one of the highlights of Winter Blooms (can’t wait for the new album). To close I would like to share two quotes contained with the jewel case: “The title [Oxycanta] derives from Cratagus Oxycanta, commonly know as the Hawthorne, a tree whose leaves and berries are legendary for their heart-healing properties.” “Stepping Stones Step in Tones”
Very Nice, Very Mysterious, Very Wonderous
I love electronic music and its ability to be cast in any mood; it can be slow, sad, mysterious, fast, action-like, perilous, or love-inspiring. This music's mood is more mysterious/awe-inspiring, and it creates a wondering mood inside me, where I can wander to a place where anything is possible. The tracks that I find the most alike to this description are Combination (on/off edit), Flaksystem, Sleepy Shadows, and Nexus, and I admire the familiar beat and feel of the Matrix Trilogy in Sleepy Shadows and Nexus as well. The rest of the tracks are great, but these four I stated are by far the best!
Very very very good compilation
There is so much talent on this release. You have to get it. Solar Fields! AES DANA! totally a top shelf release.
