James Buchanan releases his newest Progressive Folk CD, “Packing for Telluride (and other journeys to the edges of the world)” which is overflowing with a collection of works that proves to be quite rootsy, melodic, and reflective. Buchanan takes his song writing talents and spurs an insightful look into a variety of topics ranging from politics to love. His voice is not only strong and sincere but makes you want to listen to the stories he so eloquently weaves. With a march like rhythm, “There’s No Just War,” offers stunning lyrics that drives Buchanan’s message to the heart. Another song, “Panic Attack,” is somber in tonality as the acoustic guitar strums mellow progressions while the cello injects solemn riffs. Splashes of Spanish flair surround the intriguing song, “Must be the Ramblas Blues.” Check out James Buchanan and his stimulating album, “Packing for Telluride (and other journeys to the edges of the world)” especially if you like Folk music with perceptive lyrics..
